THERE'S A BELL There’s a bell at the top of us spiralling down. There’s a bell on the top of your hill. There’s a bell by the side of a sound that shines. Bell top sound shine bell top hill Bell side sound that shines Bell on your windowsill.

WHIRLING DERVISH Rolling snake eyes on a silly grave. Crawling through used car lots on broken legs. Doing the cha-cha for puppets there. The church so quiet, the beggars beg, And they beg… And they beg…beg…beg...beg...beg... Hold me under. O hold me under now. Whirling dervish won’t you kiss my lover? Painted nails on a cross-town bus. A new drug, a strip of leather, So cold and so new, why don’t you do do-do do the things like you used to? Why do they all want to look like us? Painted nails on a cross-town bus. Silly eyes, silly eyes…they turn into each other. Hold me under. O hold me under now. Na-now, na-now, now, now, na-na-now, now, na-na-now, na-now, na-now, now... Whirling dervish won’t you kiss my lover?! Rolling snake eyes on a silly grave. Shooby dooby rama lama lama lama lama Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo! Now my doctor he is in a coma. Jesus eats chicken. Chickens eat Jesus, So… Hold me under. O hold me under now. Whirling dervish won’t you kiss my lover? Painted nails on a cross-town ba-b-b-bus. A new drug, a strip of leather Ha-hari, ha-ha-hari, ha-hari, ha! Painted nail on a cross-town bus. Oh! And since you didn’t ask: He was a black man He was a white man He was a black man He was a white man. Twice saved. Took a pill and he fell in the pool. I’d tell you more… I’d tell you more But it’s just too cruel!

PANURGE Come O comely daughter, willingly to water the flower that is opening inside my head. Nectar of your sunshine slips into my mainline. Give us this day our daily bread. One in two is jetics, two is copacetic, one can only get so high. The past is prone to dozing with its petals closing, waving you bye-bye… Decent was your fixtures channeled over horsehair towards a door that was never well. I want Barbara Eden able-bodied semen if I had a chance. But you know you'd make it, we're not there to take it. You will always meant to fly! They don't want to shock you, we just want to rock you, waving you bye-bye…

SHE SHOOK ME COLD I'd give my love in vain To reach that peak again. We met upon a hill. Father she caved my head. I will go back again. O god she shook me cold!

THE HANGED MAN [version 4] Are you not swinging with the tide? Do you not show? Do you not hide? The sea’s sequential, don’t you see? I’m swinging from the hanging tree. But as I’m hanging by my foot I am alive, and this is good! You think your world is upsidedown, But still the sun and moon are round. And so I sank it deep into the core, Yeah melting to the glore. We walked down streets and hollered their names That kept to themselves in blank. Some secret sin and what dug the autumn dim At a few moments before and still unknown. You looked into his eye yourself and went Prepare, deceive like all your health. I will lay and trace about my loin Yeah trace about my lord and jingle bells hallo and toll You'll play my bloated call it wilt It was in your facing bend Thor we would sail about into the gale Yea sell it the Gael my friend. It tore early wars in Cainbeeyarde I found little witch in death aghast! Singing near they're steering me to you Your smearing me to you!

TURN INTO A BERRY In the sky a cloud. In the cloud a lake. In the lake a fish Granting you one wish. And your wish, of course, is that you wish, Any time you choose, To have a similar opportunity To change anything you want to. Everybody! She turned into a fairy So I’ll be a berry, And when she comes to suck me We both shall make merry, Cuz in that special moment When feeling can foment, We’ll ask ourselves the question, And answer, “Most definitely, yes!” You made yourself into a warm wind in my heart, yes you did! On a cool cold September evening in the chill, I swear I saw you there. I knew every time I tucked my eyes into ol’ tarot’s party (ha-ha) that you threw, In that wind I put a seed of mine… It’s meant for you! The more that you can see it The less you can taste it. The more that you can taste it The less you can see it. The less that I can see it The more I can feel it. And yeah, the more I feel it The more I believe it is true!

Ev’ry little soul must shine, shine. Mister Rabbit, Mister Rabbit! Your ears are mighty thin, There mighty thin, na na na! Yes, bless god, they’re splittin’ the wind. APRON STRINGS When I was just a baby, tied to the apron strings, I said, “Mama, Mama, what you do to me? “I know I am a bad boy – as bad as I can be – “But Mama, Mama, won’t you set me free?” My mother – feather duster – says, “If you go to sea O Leslie, Leslie, what becomes of me? Without my little sunshine shining down on me, O Leslie, Leslie, you'll break the heart of me!” My Mother she untied me. The world I had to see! “O Mama, Mama, don’t you cry for me. “You know I’ll be a good boy – as good as I can be – But Mama, Mama, I’m going to sail the sea!” Heave-Ho! I shortly found my fortune, unfortunately. O Leslie, Leslie, the bottom of the sea. And now I see my Mama. She’s looking down on me. She said, “Leslie, I shoulda left ye tied to my apron strings!” I'm goin' home!

WICKED ANNABELLA In a dark and misty house where no Christian man has been Wicked Annabella mixes her brew that no one’s every seen. Her relatives have passed her by too scared to even say hello. She’s in perpetual midnight, she shuts out the day And goes about her sinful way. I…I’ve seen her hair. I’ve seen her face look towards mine! I…I felt her eyes burnin’ my soul, twistin’ my mind. Little children who are good should always go to sleep at night, ‘Cause Wicked Annabella is up in the sky hoping you will open your eyes. Don’t go into the woods tonight ‘cause underneath the kinks and stones Are lots of little demons enslaved by Annabella Waiting just to carry you home. Ooooooooooooooooooo Cha-cha cha-cha-cha. Fa-fa fa-fa-fa. Cha-cha cha-cha-cha. Fa-fa fa-fa-fa! I…I’ve seen her hair! I’ve seen her face look towards mine! I…I felt her eyes burnin’ my soul, twistin’ my mind! Yeah!! (Meow!)

PALINDROME ["They have such long hair!" "If they play a danceable tune I'm gonna ask her to dance" "I'm kinda nervous."] No good winking at the fashionable plate, She’s the least likely to make a break. It’s not that your approach is too abrupt, She hasn’t had the chance to size your wallet up. History is written in the buff, But by the time you read it it’s all window dressing stuff. The mannequins may get a change of clothes, But look, they’re in the self-same pose. La la la la la... History is written in the buff, But by the time you read it it’s all window dressing stuff! ANYWHERE YOU LOOK It could be anywhere you look, it could be inside your head. It could be anywhere you look, it could be inside your head. I was thinking about all the chances you took. In a way it was like you were dreaming and suddenly realized you’re in a dream, And you could do some powerful things! While not knowing the things you were looking away in a way towards your ideal. If you walk underneath the ringing trees and sit alone, Listen for a voice to tell you nothing you don’t know. I was thinking about you were there towing a line In a way it was surveil rodéo an lackin' about they taught you salaam, Where we looked for your bracelet you had never been. But it seemed so familiar to find it by looking all around you. It could be anywhere you look, it could be beside your bed. It could be inside your bed, it could be just by the book. If you walk underneath the ringing trees and sit alone, Listen for a voice to tell you nothing you don’t know.

In this Clash of the Titans no surprise will arise tonight. When this feeling closes in it’s like I’m finally drawing a bead on life. We cross the bridge to the city and my heartbeat picks up the time. Can you feel it? Can you see it in my eyes that I’m trading on a fine line? It’s getting faster now, brothers of mine! Let’s climb the tower now, brothers of mine! In the glare of the moment we owned all of space and time. Then the negative results were all dashed on the street behind. Hey baby only you and I know how it feels to smash that borderline. Can you feel it? Can you see it in my eyes that I’m treading on a fine line? It’s getting faster now, brothers of mine! Let’s climb the tower now, brothers of mine! In the Clash of the Titans no surprise will arise tonight. When this feeling closes in it’s like I’m finally drawing a bead on life. We cross the bridge to the city and my heartbeat picks up the time. (Boom boom) Can you feel it? Can you see it in my eyes that I’m treading on a fine line? It’s getting faster now, brothers of mine! Let’s climb the tower now, brothers of mine! It’s getting faster now, brothers of mine! Let’s climb the tower now, brothers of mine!!

[TOTAL RUNNING TIME 66:55]

"But this eternal blazon must not be
To ears of flesh and blood. List, list, O LIST!"
-Hamlet, Act I, scene V

Nineteen live tracks, selected from the band's extensive archives, including previously-unreleased material long sought after by fans!

Although their studio material has long been accepted as their legacy, it was in a live setting that The Ophelias truly excelled, where the explosive fretwork of David Immerglück and the manic vocal and trumpet performance of bandleader Leslie Medford could shine, freed from the constraints of the recording process.

[note: these recordings are sourced from analog tapes, and as such contain background hiss and other anomalies which could not be completely removed without compromising the music]
